Why We Think This Is the Best Hand Cream Ever
I'm going to make a fairly bold statement here.
This is the best hand cream ever.
There. I've said it.
And yes, I'm completely biased.
But there's a story behind that bias.
Before there was Grounded Skincare as you know it today, there was the Hand & Cuticle Care Cream.
When I first started experimenting with making my own creams, this was one of my very first success stories.
And I was honestly blown away.
Not just because I'd managed to make a cream that actually worked, but because it felt beautiful, smelled beautiful and was genuinely lovely to use.
I remember thinking:
What if I can make skincare that is actually effective... but also smells amazing and feels so good you genuinely look forward to using it?
And, well...
That question pretty much started Grounded Skincare!
The original Grounded product
This cream came before the Grounded Skincare range.
Before the cleansers.
Before the balms.
Before the lip products.
Before the fragrances.
There was this.
It was the product that made me think, hang on... I might actually be onto something here.
And after creating an entire skincare range since then, I still wouldn't change my mind.
It's still one of my absolute favourites.
So, what makes a really good hand cream?
Because let's face it, hand cream is hand cream, right?
Wrong.
A good hand cream needs to do more than make your hands feel slippery for five minutes.
Hands cop a beating.
We wash them constantly.
We sanitise them.
We expose them to hot water, cold weather, cleaning products, gardening, cooking, work and pretty much everything else we get up to during the day.
And then we expect them to look lovely.
Honestly, our hands deserve a medal.
What they need is a cream that provides proper, lasting hydration while helping support the skin barrier through all that everyday abuse.
And that's where this one comes in.
Rich enough to actually do something
The Grounded Skincare Hand & Cuticle Care Cream is a rich, medium-to-heavy weight cream designed to provide lasting moisture rather than disappearing the second you rub it in.
It's formulated with a blend of Grape Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil and Peach Kernel Oil, alongside glycerin, vitamin E and other moisturising ingredients.
The result is a cream that gives hardworking hands the nourishment they actually need.
Not just a nice feeling when you first apply it.
Real moisturisation.
And yes, it does take a little longer to absorb than those watery hand lotions that vanish almost before you've finished rubbing them in.
That's deliberate.
Because sometimes I actually want my hand cream to stay around long enough to do its job.
And then there's the cuticles
This is the bit that makes it more than just a hand cream.
Your cuticles are skin too.
And when your hands are dry, your cuticles can become dry, rough and ragged.
Not exactly the manicure look we're going for.
That's why we included Peach Kernel Oil, which helps soften and nourish the cuticles and rough areas around the nails.
So instead of buying a hand cream and a separate cuticle product, you've got both jobs covered.
Because apparently I have a thing about skincare being unnecessarily complicated.
Desert Lime + Cucumber
And then we get to the Australian botanicals.
Desert Lime brings a beautiful Australian native ingredient into the formulation, while Cucumber adds that lovely fresh, soothing quality.
And then there's the fragrance.
Bright lime and lemon verbena.
Cool cucumber and coconut.
A soft eucalyptus and peach kernel base.
It's fresh, clean and slightly luxurious without being overpowering.
It's one of those creams where you apply it and think:
"Ooh. That's nice."
And then you remember you're supposed to be doing something else.
It's not just about how it feels
One of my biggest frustrations with hand creams is that you can put one on and think:
"Ooh, lovely."
And then five minutes later...
Nothing.
Your hands are dry again.
That's why the formulation matters.
I wanted something that would provide deep hydration and lasting moisture, while still being something you actually wanted to use.
Because the best hand cream in the world isn't much use sitting unopened in your handbag.

Apply a small amount to your hands and massage it thoroughly into your skin, paying particular attention to your knuckles, fingertips and cuticles.
And don't wait until your hands are desperately dry.
Keep it somewhere you'll actually use it.
On your desk.
By the kitchen sink.
In your handbag.
Next to the bed.
And reapply after washing your hands whenever you need it.
Because prevention is considerably easier than trying to rescue hands that have already become dry, cracked and uncomfortable.
So, is it really the best hand cream ever?
Well...
I think so.
I'm obviously biased.
But I'm also incredibly proud of this little cream.
It was one of my first experiments that made me think, yes, I can actually do this.
It started with me playing around with creams in the hope of making something good.
And ended with me wondering:
What else could I make?
Turns out...
Quite a lot.
The Grounded range grew from that first little success story.
But the Hand & Cuticle Care Cream remains the original.
The one that started it all.
And after everything we've created since, it's still the one I come back to.
So yes...
I'll stand by my original claim.
